★★★★★ I flew from Chicago to London and requested Muslim meal. I got our special meal before all the other passengers did. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I had a halal chicken steak. I looked at the label again on the tray, it said MOML. On another occasion, I flew from Frankfurt, Germany to Chicago on American Airlines and requested Muslim meal and got halal meat. ★★☆☆☆ Most of the time I get hard time to deal with the AA. Most of their workers don't know what "Halal" or " Islamic Food"!! Posted on August 29, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Moslem meal at AA has got a lot better. Now they provide meat or fish for every meal. I flew the Chicago - Manchester UK and the Frankurt - Dallas route recently and the meals were very good. Quanity was also very good. This surely beats the old standard vegeterian meals they used to provide in the past. Posted on August 24, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ I travelled US Airways with four other family members requesting a muslim meal at time of ticket purchase, a few days before the flights, and at the check in desk. Despite all that, the airline staff made such a big deal of what must have been 10 special meals in total for the whole plane. When we did get our food it wasn't halal, it was a vegetarian meal and it was absolutely tasteless.
I can't beleive an international airline can't get a simple request right, and having had this exact same experience on both the outbound and inbound flight, I'm wondering whether they even understand the meaning of muslim or halal.
Don't fly with them even if it's free! Posted on September 5, 2008 |

★☆☆☆☆ Besides discriminating against Muslims, their service is also terrible. Lucky if your luggage gets to destination and their food is worse than hospital food! Posted on August 16, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ I flew from Chicago to Heathrow and it was the worst flight I've ever had: both going and coming back.
They said that they didn't have halal, I requested vegetarian but they refused. I remained hungry for 7 hours of flight and another 2 hours of taxiying.
They treat passengers like slaves, very rude especially to black people.
I will NEVER fly AA international again and do not recommend it to anyone. Posted on August 16, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ They do NOT offer any special meals in the United States on First class. Posted on January 27, 2007 |

★★☆☆☆ I flew from Raleigh to Gatwick, and the Halal meal was rice with chicken stew. I was not sure if the chicken stew was meant to be American, Indian, or Chinese style. The rice was American rice--not Basmati or Chinese. Unfortunately, the chicken and the rice were both poor. Posted on May 29, 2006 |

★★★★☆ on an international scale, american airlines doesn't quite add up. however, domestically, it is the best option. the muslims meals really suck - vegetarian is better. if you can find an asian vegetarian, its even better - get stuff like daal. Posted on January 23, 2006 |

★★★★☆ No muslim meals in US flights- they have food for purchase. I flew Chicago to Paris and had the "moslem meal" which was not bad- mixed veggies, rice and some chicken stew dish. The breakfast was the same as everyone elses except no croissant. Overall much better than the kosher meals I have had on AA in the past. Posted on January 6, 2006 |

★★★★★ my experience with AA was awesome, it was a short flight but they were serving meal and when i booked it online , one of the options was halal- so i chose it and i got myself a halal-certified chicken sandwich, it was better than what the others ate because everyone was looking at my sandwich with curiosity. yes indeed it was a very delicious meal. you just have to ask in advance. ★★☆☆☆ My experience with AA is very bad. On morning flight to Houstan, they served an omelet and underneath there were beacon. Becareful, if you'r eating meat. Posted on August 31, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ Never travelled AA .. but found this info on their website. Posted on June 20, 2004 |

★★★★☆ I again was traveling first class, so my experience might have been different.
I had a turkey sandwich--they said it was halal certified. I was so starved for meat that I asked the attendant to put some extra turkey in my sandwich. He responded by adding a huge amount of meat--maybe 10-12 slices of turkey. It was like biting into a big block of meat! Anyway, even with my diet (I am a model), I ate the sandwich and had some veggie salad. Quite nice. Posted on May 19, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ During my afternoon coach flight, I received a pita stuffed with lettuce, tomatos, and cucumber-that's it,no falafel- along with an apple and a kosher sweet breadstick (french twist) on my way from Chicago to LA while everybody else received a ham and cheese sandwich and potato chips.
On my way from LA to Newark (a morning flight, coach), I received a more substantial meal. Although I can't remember what it was, it did not contain any meat. All I remember was that same kosher french twist again and a bag of baby carrots accompanied the meal.
In comparison to what my neighbors were eating, I'd say I received an equivalently bland meal. Posted on February 25, 2004 |
