1082-1086 Harrow Road, Brent, Greater London NW10 5NL
Behesht offers a feast reminiscent of a 'Darvish' fairy tale. Genuine antiques, old Persian copper lamps, fountains and warm wood columns create a reflection of Iran's romanticism when it was known as Persia. Behesht restaurant, in keeping with tradition, is hand-painted in rich red-maroon, turquoise blue and sun gold. Greeted by an impressive waiting room, guests enter the main dining area of the restaurant, filled with the Iranian antiques and rugs and carpets. When seated, the kitchen acts as an attraction for guests as they watch chefs prepare and bake bread in the special tanour bread oven and kebabs on the traditional grill. Enveloped by a beautiful wooden floor, tall columns and a light-blue, sculpted ceiling, the room provides a serene and intimate atmosphere. High, Gothic-style arcades create the breathtaking appearance of the terrace area. Night only enhances the effect, when chandelier and wall lights project a myriad of light shards. Special functions, exclusive dinners and meetings can be catered in two private dining rooms. The room can contain up to 16 guests, seated around a large table, while the other room can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests. The dining experience in this London restaurant is fulfilled as guests experience the cuisines of the tea room while drinking authentic Iranian tea. Behesht is open for lunch and dinner everyday from 12:00 pm to 12:00 am. Added on February 16, 2005 and last updated 13 years ago

★★★☆☆ Food is delicious and portions are large. Beautifully decorated. The benches in the main area can be uncomfortable if u sit for long. They have a private room for up to 25 ppl as well. Only down side is the staff need to be more polite, whilst some of ignore it others may find it offensive. A lovely halaal restaurant for North-West London. No alcohol served. ★★☆☆☆ I would not normally condemn a restaurant but after the shambolic service I received from this establishment I can assure you that I will not be returning in the near future. It is a shame as I first visited this restaurant 4 years ago and encountered no such problem .I shall begin with the positives, and draw on to areas which require significant improvement.
The food is actually very good, large portions, authentic recipes... has all the fixtures and fittings to provide a unique iranian dining experience. This is unfortunately compromised by the incompetent management and or waiting staff.
Once my party and I had sat down, the waiter disgracefully "THREW THE MENU's" across the table and rushed off as he was far too busy to attend to us properly. When taking our order he WALKED OFF twice. Having taken the order, he actually SNATCHED the menus away. When serving us his extremely arrogant attitude made it perceivable that he was doing us the world greatest favour.
When it actually came to serving food, he dropped a nan on the floor and rubbed one against a wall INFRONT of my eyes. I should note that he did not do this purposely, this was an accident on his part. However when I rejected the naan for the above reasons he flat faced LIED about the previos incident and looked at me as if I was speaking KLINGON.
Came to order tea (30 mins after eating) he had by this point / neither had any of the rest of the waitering staff cleared the table. It should be noted here that the restaurant was not particularly busy on this evening. Finally in adding insult to injury he tried to justify payment of a service charge, to which we laughed.
I would go to this restaurant only for a takeway... the service here is as useful as an ashtray on a motor cycle. Posted on May 25, 2013 |

★★★★☆ The food was amazing and the price is very good too, but the standards are falling. They need to be more organised because they do have alot of staff. Posted on January 1, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Good service - the kobideh was your typical - v. tasty. My dish was an Iranian dish involving a walnut paste and chicken, it didn't work for me - it was alrite but bland should have gone for the kobideh like my wife. Good value for money makes up for it. Posted on November 9, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Been a number of times. Food usually v good, lots of it and good value compared to other iranian places. Service can be slow. Helps a great deal (to speed things along) if you can speak farsi. Posted on May 28, 2006 |

★☆☆☆☆ the worst experience for a muslim family.we sat opposite a group of teenagers smoking sheesh and the group had no ethics. come on we are muslims and are supposed to have some shame. the food came after around 45minutes and our kids were almost alsleep by then . never received our nan and eventually had to get up and go to the reception to pay our bill. on letting the manager know, he seemed least bothered. the waiter added the food was a bit late. well 45 minutes mate in that time my wife would make a dish ready to eat from scratch. ★★★★☆ Very good Persian food, excellent decor and atmosphere, recently expanded and re-decorated, staff are friendly, but it can get very busy and you often need to book a table in advance. Service can be a bit slow at times, but the food has invariably been good. Location is not great and parking is sometimes difficult, but it's all worth it once you're inside at your table with a great big steaming plate in front of you! Posted on February 16, 2005 |
