★★★★★ In a country where only government provides meat (which is thoroughly not Halal), this Indian restaurant was importing their Halal meat from Brazil. Yes, make a note, in Switzerland, if the shop owner is not importing the halal meat, then it is not Halal, since the meat is only provided to all restaurants/shops by the Government, which takes care of the slaughter. (Talk about rights eh!).
So this place was ought to be expensive, very expensive since it was one of the very very few Halal places in Luzern, with the Halal Certificate at hand and owners are Muslims from Hyderabad India.
We ordered Mutton Roghanjosh (about $50 a plate), Chicken Biryani (about $50 a plate), Seekh kebabos (about $35 a plate with 3 pieces of kebab, of size of my middle finger) and about 8 Naans ($5 a naan).
The best food I ever had in Europe. Period. The Mutton Roghanjosh was so good, I could eat my fingers with it. Naans were excellent. Rice were alright, where Kebab were ok too, but one could tell the quality of food prepared by the Chef, to whom, we sent special regards.
Tho the taste and quality of the food was shadowed by the steep pricing, where we paid almost $200 for 4 people worth of food, deserts and tip (which was about CHF 20 for an excellent service by the servers), the place is definitely worth a visit if the price is not an object.
So if you are looking for an expensive but super good Desi Halal food in Luzern, this is the place for you to go. Make a note that, almost all dishes were between CHF30-50, and each dish was more than enough for 2 average eaters. They have a huge menu, and some excellent choices. Some excellent deserts as well. Their Malai Kulfi desert rocks! Posted on September 24, 2011 |
