★☆☆☆☆ Alcohol+halal food ? They are serving alcohol with halal meat! I dont care about the taste of the food. I am not sure if they really care about what is halal means! It is all about money. They just advertise it halal to make more MONEY. Staff was very straight forward when I ask how is it possible to sell halal next to alcohol. He did not seem sorry for selling alcohol. Be aware. I dont know how I did not see alcohol issue on my previous visits. Posted on April 4, 2019 |
We've clearly labeled this restaurant as serving alcohol |

NR The owner of this restaurant he is not buying halal meet also By coincidence one time we saw him at Costco club buying grilled chicken not halal and pay for it and take it to his restaurant and throw it on the grill and sell it to people as Halal chicken also when he is short on meet to goes to smart Final or food for less to buy cheap meet and sale it to customers As Halal meat . ★★★★★ On vacation here in San Diego and heard good things about this place. It was about 20 minutes from our hotel and well worth the drive out. We started with the hummus that came with two huge freshly baked naan bread. That alone would have made the trip a win, the bread was amazing!!! My wife ordered the chicken kabob and I had the beef kabob. The portions were huge!!! We could have split one meal. All the kabobs were juicy and cooked well.
This place really hit the spot after traveling with a cranky 3 year old all day!!! Service was fast and friendly. Would highly recommend this place, two thumbs way up!!! Posted on September 22, 2015 |

★☆☆☆☆ I am a Muslim living in the El Cajon community and I don't know any Muslim around who believes this place serves hallal food. They serve alcohol and you trust them to serve hallal as well? Be careful of this place. They might be authentic middle eastern but I believe the owners are Chaldean which are Christians. Posted on July 11, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ Good restaurant. Food was good but needs some more salt. I believe the price range should be $$ and not $. We were only two and ordered a plate for two with two orange juices, the price came up to $53! Service was good and the waitress was friendly. I'd recommend getting the beef and chicken kabab. ★★★★★ Excellent food, great portions, and very reasonable ambiance. They offer by far the best hummus that I have tasted. I would highly recommend ordering their 3 or 4 people feast for large parties as it comes with a really good three course meal (salad, appetizer - hummus, and full meal) Posted on August 20, 2012 |

★★★★☆ They have awesome bread, very similar to Pakistani tandoori rotee. Awesome lentil soup. Good prices. Big serving size. Good roasted chicken. Posted on February 4, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ The food is excellent and the servings are huge. However, the restaurant is not "alcohol-free" as listed above. They don't have alcohol on the menu but they do have it if you ask. I was there and saw quite a few people order it and have it served. I was shocked. Never ate from there again as I can't trust a place that serves 'halal' food and serves alcohol as well. We have modified the listing accordingly. |

★★★★★ Absolutely, positively our favorite place to eat at in San Diego (eventhough its in El Cajon which is 40 mins for us N.San Diegans). The portions are oversized!!!! we have bought the family feast for 5 to feed 8 people and we still take home leftovers.
The fresh bread is like tandoori naan.. TO DIE FOR. Posted on July 12, 2011 |

★★★★★ I am shocked I am the first person to not only review, but ADD this to zabihah.com's database! This place has incredible, authentic Iraqi food. The bread alone is worth a trip to this place. Oven-baked, huge tasty bread. I had the leg of lamb and it came to me on a mound of rice....it was fit for a caveman. It really was enough for two people. It definitely had a 1001 Nights atmosphere, with ents over the booths. I am writing this review years after my visit and I still remember the meat falling off the bone and....that bread! Actually, we did have it but someone had reported it closed. We re-opened the listing. |

★★★★★ This place was excellent. We were a group of 7 people and we ordered the "Feast for 5" platter and had plenty of left overs (it can easily feed 10 people). It was a gigantic platter with all different types of Kabobs (Beef, lamb. and chicken) along with other chicken pieces and tons of rice and salad. The platter was incredible and delicious. The service was top of the line as the staff was very friendly and catered to our needs. The place was very spacious as well as neat and clean. They even have a section for large, private gatherings. I really like this place and would love to return. If you are a group of 7-10 people then get the feast for 5. Posted on December 22, 2010 |
