Mirchi Cafe was inspired by my many trips with my husband to Pakistan and my love of cooking in the restaurant business. We specialize in an eclectic cuisine that focuses on the flavors of India, Pakistan and Asia brought out through comfort American classics like burgers, pizza, fried chicken, club sandwiches and Asian style stir-fry to name a few. We are a comfortable atmosphere that is family friendly. We make everything in-house including all of our spice mixtures, pizza dough and chicken broth. We use 100% Halal meat that is free of hormones, antibiotics and is humanly slaughtered. Mirchi Cafe is 100% Halal. We do not serve alcohol but we have a large selection of interesting drinks we blend to ordered like our famous Mango Lassi. We are always committed to quality and consistency. ★★★★★ We were visiting from LA and and our hosts took us to this place....this is the best halal restaurant food I've had in a very long time! I had the crispy chicken sandwich....the best crispy chicken sandwich I've had- hands down. Just crispy enough, yet tender from the inside with enough spicy kick to make it interesting. Also tried their pasta which was excellent. I'm planning to come back here again in the next day or two inshallah, it was that good. Posted on December 23, 2013 |

★★★★★ Been here a lot for last 5 years. Owner is always wonderful. Steak is great. Also fried chicken is great to take out. Sandwich selection is good. Love the variety. Chicken wings are a must. Posted on June 18, 2015 |

★★★★★ A family favorite! Fun, artsy, desi joint. Their spicy ranch fries are addictive. Posted on February 7, 2015 |

★★★★★ We catered food for the first time with them and our experience was just excellent with great customer service. One item which should be ordered is fried chicken which was just great. Posted on November 23, 2014 |

★★★★★ I've only tried a few dishes so far and would give them a solid 4 stars. One dish, however, pushes Mirchi up to a solid 4.5 (will round up to 5): chicken and waffles. For the love of all good things, please feast your senses on this most unusual southern masterpiece. The fried chicken is spectacular (though on rare occasion very ever so slightly soggy likely due to a slight dip in the temperature of the oil) and the waffle is of the Belgian variety, thus amazing. Half a star off for average maple syrup. Please try it. Posted on October 10, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Been going to Mirchi for the last 5 years. It used to be our post jummah kickit spot. At first wasn't a huge fan but it grew on me. Service is not the best but food is good and definitely unique. Their crispy chicken burger and beef pepper steaks are good. Their steak, is good for a zabihah place and a decent price. Their chicken boti wrap is pretty good too but its a hit or miss. Definitely a place worth trying. Posted on September 25, 2014 |

★★★★★ Best fusion place where everyone can have whatever they want. Shezan club sandwich and Nashta plate is out of this world. Don't forget to try their cold coffee.
5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Posted on April 22, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Mirchi is a desi fusion eatery. If you enjoy Indian-American fusion, great, you will like. However, not my preference, I like either or, but not a mix. The food is good and prepared well. The mango lassi is a must to try, delicious! Posted on February 15, 2014 |

★★★★★ What do you rate a place that is rockin awesome? Five stars aren't enough!!!
How do I love, thee, let me count the ways:
1-- Your lahori burgers. Thick patty, great toppings, great marinade. LOVE IT.
2-- Your chicken shashlik. It's simple and understated, but it's one of the most perfect blends of sweet, spicy, and sour.
3-- Your WINGS! I haven't had better.
4-- Your mango milkshake. Reminds me of my mother's recipe.
5-- Your tiramisu. Perfection.
6-- LISA. Such a peaceful presence.
MIRCHIS: Please expand! And add an espresso bar. I'm waiting! Posted on September 18, 2013 |

★★★★★ My favorite place. Yesterday, took a few non-desi's from out of town. The service was excellent, and the food was excellent. Staff was extremely courteous, and were very accommodating, in making modifications to the items on the menu. 3 of us had the Mirchi Steaks, 1 had the Chicken and Beef Seekh Kabab combo, with Nan, and the vegetarian person had the Sabzi Pizza. All were extremely satisfied with the quality of food, and service. Keep up the good work Posted on April 10, 2013 |

|
★★★★☆ We tried their AALoO Tikki ,, it was very delicious , served on lettuce leaves, and ranch sauce
Also had chicken tikka masala curry served with naan and rice
Curry was saucy type but good
Naan was awesome
Nice ambience and service
Not very pricey, but worth it Posted on April 3, 2013 |

★★☆☆☆ Came to Mirchi after a long time. Glad to see that the food quality is still good. The new item fried chicken was juicy and well done.
But boy the service has really really poor. We already know Desi joints are notorious for poor service but this one was has figured out a new bottom!! Posted on March 18, 2013 |

NR There crispy chicken sandwich is delicious with there fries!! Everyone has a favorite there!! I wish there service was a little good thought. Worse service ever especially of there busy they don't know what to do!! Think it's under new management because it wasn't like this. There female server they have us very rude!! They never bring you extra napkins you have to ask so many times before they remember. Me and a lot of people I know still go for there good but pretty soon we will find somewhere new because there horrible customer service!! Posted on January 15, 2013 |

★★★★★ Jumpin' gigawatts the burgers and spicy chicken sandwich were fantastic! I was expecting a kabob-between-two-buns horror show, and it was anything but. Please note: I haven't experienced their service, as a friend brought the meals for us to eat at the beach.
Update 1/6/2013:
My most recent visit told me more about the incredible service than the food. Once again, I went with the crispy chicken and some wings. Delicious. This time, however, I went with about 12 guys. The Mirchi staff took a decidedly Obi Wan Kenobi approach: be the eye of the storm and manage chaos around you. Mirchi has great food, but this last trip showed me that they're close to hitting the food, service, decor trifecta. Sadly, the Bollywood-themed decor doesn't suit my tastes. As you can see by my rating, however, I don't really hold it against them. Posted on January 6, 2013 |

★★☆☆☆ I went there recently with my wife and kids. We were very disappointed with the service and also the food. This used to be our favorite restaurant in Fremont. We are not going back there anytime soon. Posted on July 17, 2012 |

★★★★★ One of our families favorite places. We often go there although its quite a drive from Evergreen. Good food and nice ambience. Posted on June 10, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ We have been going to this place every since they opened. The food is always good but what I liked most was their service. However, the last time I visited with my family, I had a very bad experience. We entered, waited and then sat ourselves, waited and then picked the menu ourselves, waited and then went to the counter to place the order, waited and then reminded about the order, waited and then reminded about the rest of the order, waited and then asked for the check, paid right away and left without leaving any TIP.
In short, felt like we went to Shalimar or Pakwan :) i.e. good food but no service. Posted on May 14, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Good Food, a blend of desi with some western,a bit expensive but definitely worth a try... Posted on March 7, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Great chicken tikka masala pizza. I love to come to this place durring my lunch. Posted on January 25, 2012 |

|
★★★☆☆ Let me preface this by saying I've been eating at Mirchi's for years with my friend who lives in Fremont/Danville and loves this place.
When I first went back in 2005 I had this awesome penne pasta that was like their CTM with what I think was mushrooms, it was delicious. I wish they would bring back more authentic Italian food!
What is so strange is that the concept-Italian-Pakistani Fusion Halal food and the menu-All American Halal food does not match.
The food that I've had: chicken wrap, CTM pizza, crispy chicken burger, garlic bread, fries, Lahori burger, chicken roast, shaami kabaabs, calzones, pepper steak sandwich, mango milkshakes, tiramisu and chai are not all Italian. In fact although almost all of the above food is good, only three things are Italian: pizza, calzones, and tiramisu.
Also, of late, their customer service is lacking. In September 2010, it was late on a weekend night, we came in, the place was packed and we were seated within a couple minutes. Now there is a weird line that forms in the front of the restaurant, some are take-out pick-ups, some want to order take-out and some want to be seated, but no one knows what to do. Then all of a sudden a massive group comes in and they grab seats, it's just so strange. In the end people who came after us got seated before us and now there is a 35 minute wait.
Sorry, but that is really poor customer service. When we asked what was going on, there was a reserved table for people, but for both of the groups that came in and took over all the empty seats? Which btw were enough for all the people that were waiting?
Really?
Where are the reserve signs? What is the reservation policy? What should people do when they come in? where do they go? Basically it's kind of a mess...So then we decide to order takeout and they are out of Lahori burgers, so then it's pepper steaks and mango milkshakes. A little greasy, and one had a chunk of onion in the middle, not so appetizing. Since it took over 35 minutes to prepare on top of the time we were already waiting the nice guy at the front comped our meal, but honestly, just not worth all the time and effort, including a 30 minute drive to and from :( Posted on January 15, 2012 |
|
|
★★☆☆☆ I wish I can review about the food but unfortunately, this restaurant is small and crowded on weekend so did not get any seats. We asked the staff for assistance and they replied that we are full and did not try to help or tell us how long the table will be ready. We will not be back and rather patronize restaurant where the staff are more helpful. Posted on December 3, 2011 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ Cool idea in terms of menu, but we went there twice and the food was sub-par both times. Maybe we were unlucky, but maybe not. Posted on September 25, 2011 |
|
|
★★★★★ We went many times this place and always love their food. Their chicken broast, Tikka masala, Crispy chiken burger, tikka masala pizza and chiken rolls are the best. Posted on June 20, 2011 |
|
|
★★☆☆☆ The decor is amusing, but the food is merely okay. I had the beef pepper steak. The meat was a little tough for a pepper steak, and for some reason it had American cheese instead of Mozzarella. The french fries were good. Others at my table had the chicken tikka pizza. Apparently, it was decent, but the crust was too thin -- more like a roti than a pizza crust.
UPDATE - 5/7/11 - I ordered the New Fried Chicken last week and was extremely sick to my stomach the next day. In fairness, I ate at two establishments that day but the food at the other one was grilled fresh right in front of me, so it's more likely that the New Fried Chicken was the cause. They ought to be more careful. Posted on May 7, 2011 |

★★★★★ This place has 91 reviews. That should be enough for you to stop reading and just get up and be there already.
It's about a 20-30 minute drive from our place, but somehow or another it's our fail-safe. When we can't decide from the tons of halal choices in the bay area, we end up here. Why, because the food is great. From their lahori burger, to their pizza's, noodles - it's all superb. Cardamon Lassi? Fried chicken? Mirchi Fries with ranch and wing sauce? Chilli fries? It's all very very very good. Now, the place isn't too big and it does get crowded on weekends, even a slight wait sometimes ...but overall it's consistently good, service is good, and I really enjoy the decor.
Oh, the tiramisu - don't leave without trying it... Posted on May 5, 2011 |

★★★★★ Love their punjabi chicken burger with cheese, chicken wings, chicken roll, and chicken shashlik with plain rice. Their mango margarita is excellent. Environment is neat and clean with good warmth. Service is fast. Ample parking. Posted on January 16, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Great chicken wings! They have a kids menu! Thank you so much for thinking about the kids, I wish more halal restaurants would do the same. Posted on July 13, 2010 |

★★★★★ I effing love this place. priced ok. Staff is very nice and have proprer decorum. Usually at indian resturaunts you have to deal with sleezball waiters, who look down you shirt any chance they get. Posted on March 6, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ living in LA, we heard so much hype about this place and after several recommendations from family and friends, my husband and i decided to try this infamous place during our recent visit up north. we ordered the chicken wings, lahori burger and chicken breast burger. chicken wings were amazing! i've had them in LA/OC @ a few halal places, and these were BOMB in comparison. so we moved onto our burgers, which were massive in size and looked great. i picked up my chicken burger, took a small bite- barely getting bread in my mouth and put the burger down on my plate. as i was chewing, i noticed some "black stuff" on my plate in the lettuce in the burger . being a food scientist and very picky eater, i picked at it and found it to be MOLD and FUNGUS!!! yes, MOLD AND FUNGUS on the lettuce in my burger! my husband politely called the waiter who in turn informed the kitchen staff. they completely denied the fact that such a thing could happen and he apologized and told us we didn't have to pay for the wings and we left. the place was packed, but we didn't make a scene. I HOPE THEY CLEAN UP THEIR KITCHEN OR ELSE PPL WILL GET SICK AND SHUT THEM DOWN! Posted on July 1, 2009 |

★★★★★ I have been eating frequently at Mirchi from the day they opened. First of all I would like to thank the owners to bring this idea along with the great food to the town. Not to forget at that time we had no place like that. As far as quality is concerned, food quality is awesome, bathroom is cleaned, restaurant is clean all the time, yet food quantity may look less (e.g chicken wings but no one really produces chicken in their backyard so it may or may not be of good size). All I can say is that nothing is perfect in this world but we should really encourage people like them for what they are doing for the community and that is offering us the true Halal food. May Allah bless all especially people who are sincerely serving the community. Posted on March 25, 2009 |

★★☆☆☆ I have been to this restaurant many times. First comment for administrator is that no way its $. Its atleast $$ if not $$$. The decor is good, service ok but food not good at all. Actually qualilty has deteriorated. Lahori Burger used to be good but now crap. Chilli chicken and Shashlik are also really bad. These were the only better items there but have lost their taste as well. Need to find out another burger and other halal food place. Don't go for Pizza at all here. I hope these guys improve their food and bring some taste back to it. Posted on November 3, 2008 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ The decor is good, the food is not.
The only thing decent is the philly cheese steak (make sure to specify you would like it to have cheese)
The lahori burger is especially crap if you're used to high quality burgers.
The calzones are alright Posted on August 22, 2008 |
|
|
★★★★☆ I just love their Punjabi Burger. My husband prefers the Lahori Burger, which is also nice. The drinks are nice too. I love their chicken wings. I also like that you can subsitute your fries and coleslaw with a salad.
Just one thing. The cheeseburger for kids is the samd as the Lahori Burger so it was a little spicy for my 2 year old. He just ate the fries. Might be ok for older kids, though.
Nice atmosphere. I enjoy going there. Have been there many times. We no longer live in Fremont, but keep going back to the restaurant. Posted on June 20, 2008 |
|
|
★★★★☆ Overall, a great place to eat. Just a few minor issues:
1) The coleslaw: simply put... YUCK
2) The fries: Keep it simple. Salt is enough. The seasoning they use for their fries is just horrid.
3) Chicken wings: were these chickens starved before being slaughtered?
negatives aside, the rest of the food is pretty good. Posted on January 6, 2008 |
|
|
★★★★★ I love Mirchi café. Especially Lahori burger, ( their own ingredients) Punjabi burger (their own ingredient) Beef pepper steak, Chicken pepper steak, Yummy Shami Kabab Burger, Aloo Tikki Burger is so good too. Thank you Mirchi for providing us Halal Food.
I prefer to Mirchi Instead of Shalimar or Pakwan cause if I eat Shalimar or Pakwan it would be very hard for me to digest the food & top of that high Calories, all curies, Rice Biryanies, Love you Mirchi God bless you. Posted on December 26, 2007 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ hmm..I loooved their food until I saw boxes of Shaan Masala (spice) piled up in their stockroom. I asked them - in which dishes do you use it? They said all their burgers, sandwiches. Now that's disappointing. Shaan is full of MSG (mono-sodium-glutomate) which is bad for health - and esp for developing babies - so I could not eat there the entire time I was pregnant.
Oh well... Posted on October 12, 2007 |
|
|
★★★★☆ The lahori burger was awesome. The chai could use a little work, but service was great overall! Posted on September 26, 2007 |
|
|
NR good food, nice ambiance, ok service...they brought out ice cream for a birthday so that was nice Posted on June 15, 2007 |
|
|
★★★★☆ I liked the Lahori burger; it was a good bbq burger with some zing to it! The service is very friendly, the food is pretty good, and some of the prices are reasonable. I wouldn't recommend the steak though! Posted on October 9, 2006 |
|
|
★★★★★ The food is excellent if you are looking for something different than your regular Ind/Pak dishes. I ordered the steak, fried chicken and spicy tikka chicken wings. The wings were superb. The only thing is, they need to increase the portion size. Otherwise, the environment, service and food is something to die for...Love it!!! Posted on October 6, 2006 |
|
|
★★★★★ Great food, great service, great experience. I recommend this highly. Posted on June 25, 2006 |
|
|
★★★★☆ The service is great, and the food is pretty good, but I think they use the same meat for the burgers as they do for the kabobs..I guess to cut down on cost. But the Spring chicken is very very good! Also, I had the steak..It was mouth watering. I would just let the owners know to differentiate in using real burger meat for the burgers and seperate meat for the kabobs.. Posted on May 28, 2006 |

★★★★★ Love this Cafe, need more of those in our area.. Posted on April 2, 2006 |

★★★★★ This restaurant is still keeping up with the quality, I go there lot & find tht the food is still same no change, I love the chicken tikka pizza. Posted on March 17, 2006 |

NR Great ambience, good service and wonderful food! The prices are also more than reasonable. Posted on February 14, 2006 |

★★☆☆☆ Food is average. Because of all the great reviews this place keeps getting and friends praises about the food, I've gone there many times thinking that this time food will be better but have the same bland experience all around. Have tried a lot of different things and many of the same things again and have found the same thing over and over again. The things that I would return for, however, are the tiramisu and the NY steak. Would definitely skip on the fried (more like refried)chicken. Posted on February 13, 2006 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ Nice homey place and food is good. Price is reasonable. Posted on January 30, 2006 |
|
|
★☆☆☆☆ The best thing I had that night were the drinks, and even they were way overpriced. The pina colada and mango martini were very tasty. The food was not good at all, I dont see what the fuss is about. I ordered Fried chicked and the pieces were so tiney, they only give 2 for the price of at least 5 pieces, and it was over fired, It was soburnt I gave up on trying to eat it after the first bite. My daughter ordered a hamburger and she choked because it was so dry. We drove from Sunnyvale because we heard from several different people it was a good place to get a different type of halal food, it was different but not in a good way. If I was ever to go back it would only be for the drinks. Posted on November 8, 2005 |

★★★★★ Very good place & very good food. Really impress with the jop these people have done, very bussy on weekend so go on week days. Was there last sunday but wait was about 30 minutes, so went back again on wednesday. Chicken tikka pizza was great. Posted on September 29, 2005 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ Go for the ambience, not for the food. Food is edible, but not extraordinary. Posted on September 15, 2005 |
|
|
★★★★★ I was there 2nd time since they are open, still same good food, I was surprise to see they have Baryani special on Friday. Well I still like there Fusion menu. I am in love with there Chicken Burger(Punjabi Burger). Posted on August 19, 2005 |

★★★★★ excellent food , good decor, very neat and clean place i ever had in desi's resturant. My opinion they should move to the bigger location now. other then that no bad comments. GOOD WORK MERCHI CAFE KEEP IT UP. Posted on August 15, 2005 |
|
|
★★☆☆☆ The food is okay, mostly average to dismal. Some dishes come out nice. Most people just get excited and tout it as a great restaurant because it's something different. The layout of the place is nice but it is too tiny to deal with the crowds. The tiramasu was soggy and flavorless. I might go again to see if it improves but currently I am unimpressed. Posted on August 9, 2005 |

★★★★★ This is the best place for a halal philly cheesesteak sandwich! I drive down from San Francisco at lease twice a month for it. They call it Chicken Pepper Steak w/ Cheese - worth the price every time!!! Posted on June 12, 2005 |

★★★★☆ Excellent place for burgers and pasta. Very clean and nice environment. Where else can you get halal tasty burgers in this price? Highly recommended Posted on June 5, 2005 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ Went here again a few days ago. MUCH IMPROVED! Food was tasty and was served quickly! Also, the french fries portion size increased too! There still is no consistent recipe for the coleslaw -- tastes different every time! However, the biggest improvement was that they hired almost three new employees to serve (which I hadn't seen before). This was a great move on Mirchi's part -- as slow service was their greatest downfall.
It seems, although slowly, Mirchi is listening to its customers' comments. Keep it up and you will have a lot of "regular" customers. Posted on May 16, 2005 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ Food is okay. We have found it to be slightly inconsistent with regard to food temperature and spice. The serving portions may vary each time you go too. I once went there 3 times in one week (can't remember the reason why), and all 3 times the food tasted different and/or had inconsistent portion sizes. One time the lahori burger had sooo much garam masala, I could not finish it.
Also, you should note that service can be a little slow. There only seems to be one woman working the tables (even on fridays and saturdays). This can be a little frustrating if you require a re-fill on water or need to order something additional as you will simply have to wait until she comes close to your table.
As mentioned above, the food is okay. I will not go out of my way to eat here until 1. They have some consistency with regards to food taste and portion size and 2. they hire more waiters to handle the orders so that a table doesn't have to wait for an unreasonable amount of time to get water. Posted on April 25, 2005 |

|
★★★★☆ Its good, no doubt, but some dishes are pricy. The Calzone leaves much to be desired... however the burgers and sandwiches are quite nice. The best thing here is the Pina Colada and Tiramisu. (finally deserts and drinks without alcohol). Posted on March 29, 2005 |
|

★★★★★ I was very happy to see that they have added lot of new items to the Menu. I really love the ginger beef & the chicken wrap....way to go guys only thing missing is mexician food , may be soon. Posted on March 17, 2005 |

I love the Burgers & Chicken Tikka Pizza.
Good Luck .... Posted on January 15, 2005 |

★★★☆☆ We were not too impressed with the burgers that we tried. They were more American style (bland) and not warm. The place was packed and loud and with the servers running around.
Despite the crowd, the service was excellent, the best that I have seen at a desi restaurant. The only problem was that preparing food took too long. Posted on January 15, 2005 |

★★★★★ Its great to finally have a halaal restaurant that serves GOOD American food. I've eaten at some of the best restaurants in the US and I do a fair amount of cooking myself so I think its a fair assessment to say that Mirchi is quality food at a great price. Everything I ate there so far has been very good, my personal favorite being the pepper-cheese steak. This is my favorite restaurant in the Bay Area, food-wise. The service could be a little faster, though. Posted on November 30, 2004 |

★★★★★ I recently discovered this cafe, and have already been back 4 times- and each time, I take a new bunch of people with me. I believe the sense of satisfaction I have, as far as hygene is concerned, is the best as this is a family owned, and operated entity. I have had a chance to have a short discussion with the family members, and they seem to be appropriately balanced as well. The food is halal, and the spices are just right, blending in the western tradition as well. I am prone to go back again for more. The size of the restaurant is small, thus manageable. A job well done by the entire family. My regards to the chef, and compliments to the management! Posted on November 26, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ The food was mediocre at best. I was hoping for a restaurant at the level of italian/american restaurants. This definitely fell short. Posted on October 28, 2004 |

★★★★★ Completely excellent fusion of desi and american cusine. Tastes like best of quality homemade and fine restaurant. Kitchen area is visible and extremely clean, as is seating area. Had great tasting chicken club sandwich, along with very well made non alcoholic strawberry daquiris and no alcohol tiramisu dessert. Excellent value and great service. Desi music on plasma and pictures on wall not so desirable, but again as far as cleanliness, service, food, and value go ... this is the benchmark to beat. Posted on October 10, 2004 |

★★★★☆ this is the first resturant serving halal food in the bay area which has an impressive decor and good food. other places like pakwan, kabab and curry STINK as far as the decor is concerned and the food is average .
service is a bit slow at mirchi , their chicken tikka and masala chicken pizza is excellent if u compare it to other places serving halal pizza.
they also serve cakey brownies not those disgusting chewey american brownies .
very nice place. Posted on October 9, 2004 |

★★★★★ The food and decor were excellent. We had the steak and a club sandwich and they were delicious. We will definitely go there many times. It reminded us of the Copper Kettle in Karachi. American food made in a desi style as well as Desi food for desi people. :) Posted on October 9, 2004 |

★★☆☆☆ I have been there but after reading these reviews I called this place on Sunday 10/03/04 around 7PM but nobody picked up the phone. Thinking that they are closed I went to a Muslim Chinese place because they answered my call right away. During my customer service experience I have learnt that phone customers are far more important then the customers who are already in the store. I wonder how far the reviews are true that I would decide by just dropping one day. NO PHONE CALLS THIS TIME. Posted on October 7, 2004 |

★★★★★ I've tried all of their sandwiches and love them all. I highly recommend cheese steak sandwich and masala friend chicken. Decor is wonderful. They'll have me as a regular customer if they can maintain what they have now. Posted on October 4, 2004 |

★★★★★ Pizza was okay but other dishes were better. The tirimisu was AWESOME! These guys are the new hot, happening place! We went there Friday night and the waiter was too busy (in a good way)! We had the spaghetti with meatballs and steak and everything was superb, especially the tirimisu. I also met both owners, and they are very nice people. Posted on October 4, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ I believe this restaurant has a terrific concept in serving halal non-desi dishs such as burgers, steaks and some kinds of pastas, but the execution is somewhat lacking. The food is simply OK, and in some cases, pretty bad. I did like their pizza however. The big plus is the good, kindly service and the ambiance; very clean and attractive decor. ★★★★☆ I ate here with a group of friends after learning that Mirchie sponsored a non-profit Fund Raiser event held in the Bay Area by The Citizens Foundation.
The decor, service and ambiance is way better than the average Desi restaurant. The food is fresh and served well -- but the tastes need to evolve to either Pakistani or American. Right now, its not clear where the Lahori or Punjabi burger gets its taste from! Posted on September 25, 2004 |
