★★★★★ Muslims/tourists of Orange County: Have you wandered on to this site, looking for a nice Persian restaurant to try out? Look no further. Trust me. Go here. The food is amazing. The space is worthy of any occasion, no matter how fancy. I cannot recommend this place enough. Moreover, the restaurant is owned by a devout Muslim, there's no alcohol, and there's no doubt everything is halal.
You may ask yourself--is there anything that separates this restaurant from the scores of other Persian restaurants in Orange County and LA? The answer: A resounding "YES!" Aside from being among the most high quality Persian restaurants in the area, this is the only Persian restaurant I've been to in OC/LA that has "rack of lamb"/shish lik, which is probably the most popular kabob in high end kaboberies in Iran.
I would say this is probably the most high end Persian restaurant in Orange County that doesn't serve alcohol. As a result, it's a bit more expensive than most Persian restaurants. For my family, our go-to place to carry out Persian food to eat at home is Hatam in Mission Viejo (super high quality, also a nice place, but a bit more affordable), but Woodfire Kabob has become our go-to Persian food spot for dine-in special occasions. ★★★★★ It\'s nice to see such a big spacious dining hall serving halal food. We stopped by on our way home to LA from San Diego and were very surprised to find this place. The food is good. Same quality as Haidar baba in Pasadena. I recommend it highly and think it would be great for events. Posted on August 12, 2022 |

★★★★★ This place is huge!!! They can easily accommodate 150 plus people. It used to be the location for Elephant bar/grill that has closed due to this mall location not taking enough traffic.
Coming back to food... they have good Persian dishes.. Koobideh are excellent, specially if you order spicy beef or chicken, the beef is close to Chapli Kabob in flavor if that is your thing. The prices are on the high side but the portions are gargantuan... the lunch specials are offered with your choice of soup or salad along with one skewer while dinner portions contain two skewers of meat but each skewer is plenty for one person.
I especially like their vegetable kabobs. Barg whether chicken or beef is just average. But I am not a fan of Barg to begin with. Lamb dishes are pricey as expected. The appetizers are also quite pricey. I usually like Kashke-e-badamjoon at any Persian restaurant as an appetizer but here it is $9!! and not as good as the one served at Hatam nearby.
However that all being said, the ambiance is perfect for a nice family dinner and the food is overall good and the portions very generous.... don't forget to order spicy Koobideh, you won't regret it. Posted on July 22, 2020 |

★★★★★ I live in the area and been to this restaurant several times. The place is huge. It is perfect for groups and events as well as anyone who prefer spacious, clean and nicely decorated restaurant. I got to chat with the owner and he told me they insist on being 100% Halal and alcohol free restaurant despite multiple offerings of investors to utilize the built in bar in the restaurant to sell alcohol.
The food is really good! Fresh, Authentic and comes in generous portions.
I like the complimentary cheese and walnuts plate they serve as an appetizer.
My Favorites are the lamb Kobedeh, Bargh and Tadiq with ghayma and qorma sabzi on top. Posted on March 2, 2020 |

★★★★☆ Glad that Heidar Baba has opened up again, shame it's so far from Irvine. Chicken kebab and Tahdig are really good. Service is friendly but very slow; not great with kids in tow. Appetizers are pricey. Posted on December 1, 2018 |
