★☆☆☆☆ By farrrr the worst place I have ever been in. Service was simply horrendous. The food for the entire table was undercooked, to the point you may even worry about getting sick. It took half an hour to get the attention of the waitress and when she finally came to the table she just simply took the plate back to kitchen and still charged us (without giving us any options), for the two bites taken. Needless to say I WOULD NOT recommend this place to anyone, and this coming from someone who has never given a place a bad review. Posted on May 3, 2013 |

★★★★☆ I do like their food compared to other few Mediterranean places. Meat is actually cooked well as should be, sharma can be improved. Note this is by far the better than the other two gabys on Jefferson and Venice. Posted on December 28, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ LOVE their lemon chicken! I could drink the sauce. Kabobs and shawarmas are good too but service sucks. I usually get my food to go and have been overcharged for items the waitress did not give me and since i always have large orders i do not check every single item. Since i live 30 miles away i did not go back but i was really upset! Parking also sucks. Posted on August 15, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Verbal assurance from staff that all the meat is Halal. Also saw a sign inside the restaurant which states Halal Certified. Tried the Jody's Salad, which was Greek Salad with big pieces of Chicken Kebabs - it was pretty good. We also had the Baked Chicken + Roasted Veggies Plate which comes with rice and salad on side. It was excellent (tastes like Chicken Stew). Tried Sfeeha (dough stuffed with beef) which was good, but it was lamb meat instead of beef. I also tried the Jallab drink which is pretty much rose water with ice and pine nuts. I liked it, but if you don't like rose water, you wont like it:)! Seating in outdoor covered patio has live music in the evenings. Friendly service and clean restrooms. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended. Only downside is they serve alcohol. ★★★★☆ I like the patio seating and decor. Food is decent also. Service can be improved. Posted on December 17, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ Worst service ever. For over one hour I saw our waitress once, and I had to track employees down to get any help. After waiting an hour to order, I decided to just order the food to go. That took another 45 minutes -- amazing, considering the place was mostly empty. I'd never come back here. Posted on February 13, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Decent Middle-Eastern place. We tried Chicken Shwarma and Chicken kabob. Both were good. Prices reasonable and service courteous. Check it out if you're in the West LA/Palms area. Posted on February 7, 2011 |

★★★★☆ I've been going here for close to a decade now, and the owner still kinda looks at me with that same indifference and border-line rudeness that I've come to know and love.
This is probably the best Lebanese food in Culver City, although the Lemon Chicken as others have said, is easily their best dish. It's a good place to take a big party because they have tons of seating outside in the tent (call ahead). Posted on July 17, 2010 |

NR Try the Lemon Chicken. That's easily their best dish and is really really good. Posted on October 30, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ If you have a choice to eat somewhere, don't pick this place to eat. I had better Halal Mediterranean Food. Also I was a bit concern because one of their lamb dished uses 'Red Wine" that's right and that got me suspicious... if they use alcohol to enhance their food then they 'Might" use in all their dishes. Caution!!! Posted on August 10, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Food and service are great.........What I like about it is that you have the option of sitting inside the building or out under the tent. Service can be a little slow. Posted on April 29, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Owner has confirmed that out of their 3 locations, the 2 locations that serve halal food are the ones on Venice Blvd and the one near the Venice Pier. Gaby's Express on Washington Blvd is not halal. Good food, cheap, great ambience. Service is prompt. Posted on April 10, 2009 |

NR this place has a good crowd, good food, and open late!!!
everyone says it is halal zabihah food - but somebdoy needs to find out where they buy their meat from and not ask waiters - what do those poor people know about behind the scenes???
the dark green sesame seed oil thing they bring out in the beginning with pita bread is so damn good!!! Posted on April 6, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ The service is a bit slow, this place is meant for taking people you want to spend some quality time with, but the food is EXCELLENT. The Lemon chicken and chicken shawarma sandwich is very tasty. Also, I called today and asked if they were halal, and the person on the phone said they were. Take that for what it's worth. ★★★★★ Every time I've been there, the staff assures us the food is halal. I hope so, because this place has great ambiance. The server forgot our order, but made up by giving us complimentary hummus and discounting the bill by 15%. Most places just give excuses. Posted on October 16, 2007 |

★★★★☆ The food at Gaby's is all halal now, they have certificates as well, which is great because I love the kibbeh. The service is even better now than it used to be. Posted on May 23, 2007 |

NR the recently changed and they are NOT halal anymore (2007). Posted on February 24, 2007 |

★★★★☆ The reviewer that says the place is not halal is incorrect. I just went there yesterday (12/1/2006) and asked 2 different waiters, both of them told me all the meat was halal Posted on December 2, 2006 |

★★★☆☆ ATTN: I called this restaurant on 9/15 and they informed me they are not halal. Just an FYI Posted on September 15, 2004 |

★★★★☆ i have eaten at this place several times, and before, they used to advertise the food as "halal" but then stopped after a while. i spoke to them on a couple of occasions, and they made it clear that lamb is halal, but nothing else. a few of my friends also called and got the same response. ★★☆☆☆ they serve alcohol at this location as well now. Posted on August 14, 2004 |

★★★★★ GREAT food at good prices, but don't expect to be in and out quickly. Many positive reviews about the food in mainstream (i.e. non-Muslim) LA restaurant reviews. The owner's name is "Gaby" (thus the name of the restaurant) and he personally vouches for the Halal authenticity - but just ask the staff or ask for Gaby when you get there. They take their time, but also it appears that they don't mind if you hang out and take your time to leave. The only halal place in LA that I know open until 1:00 AM. They serve sheesha there, but I've seen families with kids dining there too. I don't think they serve alcohol at this location (but don't confuse this location with the Venice beach location right at the pier on Washington - same owner but not Halal and they serve alcohol at the other location).
