★★★★☆ The veggie plate is tasty and so is their moujadara! Their shawarma is flavorful but I wish they changed their breads to something more authentic than the wheat and spinach variety they offer. I'd say the regular pita they serve with combo plates would make an excellent bread for the wraps! Posted on May 29, 2014 |

★★★★★ Went to this place this afternoon and was very satisfied. Good portions and food was not heavy at all. Service was very good and food was on the table in less than 10 minutes. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Posted on November 19, 2013 |

★★★★☆ it is the only real middle eastern restaurant here, owned by Palestinians. it takes time to get the order, but its worth it. Posted on August 12, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Halal Sign on window and Owners are Known Muslims. Went here for lunch with a friend. I had the beef/lamb platter ($9.99). I had to get some hot sauce on the side. It came with rice, hummus and choice of salad. Everything was pretty good. I also ordered a mint tea, but was slightly disappointed that it was just a prepackaged tea bag in hot water. Service was good. This place get's packed during lunch time. Parking is usually difficult in this area (Castro Street). Will have to come back again to try some of the other menu items. ★★★☆☆ we ordered shawarma and beef kabob plate. rice was ok. hummus was ok too. it was decent food, but it could have been better. the shawarma should have had more spices, it tasted very mild and i'd hate to use the word bland. Posted on June 14, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Chicken shawarma wrap is probably one of the better ones I've had in recent memory. Service was also above average. Posted on April 30, 2011 |

★★★★★ Whilst visiting California, I ate here due to the good reviews. I was not disappointed. I had the 3 meat platter for $16. This had the chicken (organic), beef shawarma and kofte. All three were delicious and tender. There is seating outside and the surrounding area is very nice. Posted on April 1, 2011 |

★★★★★ This is my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant in the Bay Area. I have been here many times and the food is extraordinary and the quantity and price are great. I always leave stuffed having enjoyed every bite. I appreciate the fact that there meat is not only Halal but also Organic. The owner is great and can be regularly seen praying at the masjid. ★★★★☆ Very good food! I had the chicken shawarma wrap and was very happy with what I got. It was in a tortilla which is different but that did not change how good it tasted. I was with friends who all ordered different plates and no one had any complaints. Posted on May 26, 2009 |

★★★★★ I'm from Michigan and have had the good fortune of growing up around a number of great Middle Eastern Restaurants. In the Bay Area, I think is on of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in town. The owners are very active in the Masjid and are very friendly and generous. The chicken is organic and all the meat is certified Halal. No alcohol served. Great location with a clean nice new interior and excellent Middle Eastern food. I don't ussually write reviews but this place impressed me! Posted on October 6, 2008 |

★★★★☆ I've been to this place recently with my family. The place is definitely better than most of the halal places in silicon valley in my opinion.
When we were there, there was not much people and our food came very fast. Both my wife and I ate lamb/beef shawarma. I ate the wrap which came in tortilla. That surprised me as I was waiting for pita bread, but I was very happy with it as it was more solid and easier to eat. The taste was great as well. My wife got the platter which came with rice and humus (you can select babaganush as well). The food we ate was decent, reasonably priced, and served fresh.
There was not any music and it was quite which I enjoyed.
I don't think they serve alcohol as well. At least, I've not seen.
I've not asked for the halal status. The people working there was muslim and greeted us with salam which, along with the fact that I found the place through zabihah.com, was enough for me.
The only down-side is that there is not any restrooms inside the restaurant. You need to go to the main building restroom which is next-door. In the weekend, we had to ask for the key to the other building to get into the restroom as the building was closed. Getting out and walking to the restroom place with our kid was not very pleasant.
We will definitely go there again and again. I hope they will keep the quality of the food same. Posted on June 30, 2008 |
