★☆☆☆☆ Ok. I am going to give this restaurant 1 or 0 ratings. We were traveling from midwest to new york for 10 days. I had seen their restaurant video on insider and since we all love middle eastern food we all wanted to try this unique restaurant.
I called the restaurant and asked the person who picked up the phone, if this restaurant was "Zabihah Halal". Her instant replay was "Yes" it is Zabihah Halal. Now if I didn't question her a bit more, I would have taken the part of 20+ people to try something that is not Zabihah and them providing the wrong info.
So I asked her, wait is it "Halal" or "Zabihah Halal", She then said yes yes Halal, I then asked her wait you told me initially that its "Zabihah Halal" Now you are telling me its "Halal", what is it? I then questioned her where do you get your meat from? and if you can show a certificate of Zabihah Halal meat if we all come there.
This all confused her and she put me on hold to go check with the Chef/owner.
After 10 mins on hold she comes back and says, oh its our restaurant policy we cannot go back in the kitchen and cannot talk to the chef/owner. So she says to go their website and email them.
I emailed the chef/owner and this is his reply to me. Which is even more confusing.

At first she told me it is zabiah halal and when I asked her if she has the certificate that's when she said she will go check with the chef. We are over 15 people from Chicago and LA here and want to try your restaurant as we have heard allot about it.

Hi Zayn,
We serve zabiha halal most of the times. However, when zabiha halal meats are not available we use halal meats.
Thanks,
Tarik

Unfortunately, I can’t guarantee to serve zabiha halal.

So basically Restaurant do not want to directly answer that they do not serve Zabihah Halal Meet.
It is very hard to believe that being in NYC and you cannot find Zabihah Halal for the restaurant and then provide wrong info to the customers.
Anways, just call or email the chef 1st to confirm if they are serving Zabihah Meet the day you plan to go.
Good Luck.
I rate this restaurant 0 - useless. Posted on June 18, 2018 |
