★★☆☆☆ Went there for dinner, it was Ok at best. Nothing special and not worth the price. Would’ve been more satisfied going to Halal Guys for a better and tastier meal that is 1/4 the cost of what I paid at Lasani. Also, store owner lied to my face about the halal authenticity of the chicken she purchases. I asked her where she purchases her chicken from and she told me “As-Salam” (who is a reputable seller of hand-cut chicken). I contacted As-Salam the next day to verify, As-Salam mentioned they haven’t bought any meat from them in years. If the owner is lying to me about where she gets her chicken from, what else is she lying about in terms of the rest of the meat she offers? Pros: chicken kebabs were decent (even though I do not know if they were even halal), naan was ok and their chicken karahi was decent, nothing special. This review is coming from a desi guy who has a palate for desi food. Have had better elsewhere for less money. Posted on April 25, 2018 |

NR The place is small, not very clean. But the food here is amazing. Kababs and other entries are delicious. Gives you feeling of home cooked food. The girl working there is very nice spoken and supportive. Posted on August 11, 2015 |

★★★★★ Atmosphere is not that great, but who cares when they got excellent food and superior service.
Their kabobs is really good and there is a masjid underneath. Posted on November 15, 2014 |

★★★★★ Pl read the entire review
Excellent dinner. I had a platter of rice with daal, 2 pieces of BBQ chicken tikka, karela beef, raita, salad and a small serving of desert. All for $7.00 in NEW YORK CITY. I am here on training for 2 more days, plan to eat dinner inshallah
The reason they have only a few reviews is because the customers here come for prayers and or Taxi drivers also in a rush to eat and leave. They do not have the time or know how to write reviews
When in the city do enjoy their no frill setup and excellent freshly made food
Good job guys Posted on February 28, 2013 |

★★★★★ The food at the place is great! Its under heat lamps, but it looked and tasted fresh. There is no beef available here. My husband and I shared chicken karahi, chicken chapli kebab, and chicken seekh kebab. The kebab's were alright, but the chicken was really lovely - the sauce tasted just right, and the chicken was boneless and soft. We had naan and roti. The roti I likely would not have again, but the naan was the best naan I have ever eaten outside. I have no idea how they do it, but it is utterly amazing. The prices are incredibly reasonable, I can't think of the last time I had naan for $1!! The premisis is basic, not a place to go on a romantic date... but really great if you would like great food and fast. It has sinks outside its washrooms, which I found useful for wadu (though you cannot do your feet, which is 100% understandable). They have a masjid right below the restaurant, so you can go grab something to eat just before or just after prayer. We were there just before, and it was much calmer than I imagine it would have been after! We had a baby stroller with us, and had to carry it up the stairs - so it is not handy for handicap or those who are having to carry strollers up without a helping hand. On the whole though - Excellent - highly recommend this place! Posted on January 24, 2012 |

★★★★★ Without a doubt, some of the best South Asian food I've had in Manhattan. Only $7.50 for a meat entrée, a veggie side, and rice. Also comes with the best yogurt I've ever had at any South Asian joint. The staff's pretty polite, and this place is conveniently located above Masjid ar-Rahman. Only thing that wasn't great was that salad they always give you. Terrible. But who really eats those entirely? Can't go wrong with this place. Posted on March 18, 2011 |

★★★★★ okay so about 5 of my office colleagues who had never had Pakistani food wanted to see how Pakistani food tastes like. I had never been to Lasani before - but I had seen it as its on top of the masjid.
I called them and explained the situation to the lady (I think she is the owner). She was very nice n kind and said she will get a place reserved n cleaned out for us.
When we got there the good thing was the food was fresh n laid out cleanly on the counter. It helped guys see what they want and choose the dishes.
We had couple of vegetarians with us too. Everyone had a great time with the food. The serving was more then ample. The naans, rice, gravy everything was just perfect. The taste was great and to top all of that... service was too good.
Everyone loved the place and I am sure they will go back their routinely now even though its a good 10 mins walk from us.
Well recommended place. Excellent experience - wonderful food. I'm a fan now. Posted on January 7, 2010 |

★★★★☆ this place was called ash shalal but now it is called lasani. this restaurant is on top of the masjid. they have desi food as well as arab food. they have good lunch specials and the food seems to be really good. This place is helped out by the fact that it is on top of the masjid. So they have built in traffic every day after zuhr.
I think that this is a nice fast food place and compared to most desi fast food eateries it is cleaner and you can sit there as they have an ample sitting area. again this is a good cheap eatery. Posted on September 30, 2005 |
