★★★★★ Excellent food with welcoming staff! :) Posted on August 14, 2016 |

★☆☆☆☆ Not considered among the top Afghan restaurants in the bay area. Food and service is horrible each time I go there. I started going to Afghan Village about fifteen years ago, however it has been close to one year since I was last there (invited to an iftaar). The top Afghan places now reside in Dublin and Oakland. Fremont has lost its allure for Afghan food. Sadly, Afghan Village never even had that. I do not recommend. Posted on November 13, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ I'm just not as gung-ho over this place as everyone else is. People rave about this place. I get it, there's some fancy ambiance and nice tables. But the food is ok. I mean, in a city that is known as Little Kabul, there are many choices and this one just isn't my first choice.
Their kabuli pulao is made with beef, or at least it was the last few times I went there. I prefer leg of lamb, which is softer.
Their mantoo is ok, but I've had better.
I also find the ambiance to be too large and a bit stuffy and formal.
But, since everyone always wants to meet there, I will likely be going back. It's one of the few Afghani places that can accommodate large groups. Posted on September 18, 2013 |

★★★★★ Bolani n aush every other day!... Posted on July 14, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ Horrid service by owners! Do not have a party here. Its okay to just eat a meal, but I repeat, do not have a party here! They over charge, and do not commit. They skimp you on Food! Our party of 65 people, food for 20 provided. Very disappointing. I will never patron this place again! Posted on July 7, 2010 |

★★★★☆ one of the top 3 afghan restaurants in the bay area - and this says a lot! The Bolani is really good, make sure you try it. The kebabs were above average as well and the rice was a bit above average. Posted on December 23, 2009 |

★★★★☆ I have been here multiple times and I must say the food is extremely delicious and the setting is incredible (their setting and decor is much more classier than most zabihah joints).....just remember you will be paying more $$ since you are going to a more elegant place. The place is usually not crowded so you usually don't have to wait to be seated. Posted on July 20, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Went here for a dinner party last night and also have been here several times before with family and friends. The food is pretty good and the service is also good. They usually have pretty good Chapli Kabob. The interior decor of the restaurant is pretty nice and they have set-up for small weddings or functions with a stage and microphone. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the prices are a little on the high side, but the quality of the food is good and it is usually not as crowded as the other Afghan restaurants in the area. ★★★★☆ I like this place a lot. We usually go there atleast once a month, from south bay.
We ordered Shami kabab, Chicken kabab, bolani and Qablai pallaow. Everything was good the only issue was that the Naan was stale (it had fungus on it). When this was brought to the attention orf the waitress and the owner all they blamed it on the cook and said sorry.
My intent in writing this review is to let people know to look at the bread while eating. Posted on September 5, 2006 |

★★☆☆☆ No comment. Bland. Ice-cream good. Posted on October 16, 2004 |

|
★★★☆☆ The decore of Afghan Village is pretty much the only thing that is attractive.
I've tried most of the dishes and they all have very little taste and are bland. They do have very good dessert though. For better tasting Afghan Cuisine, I suggest De Afghanan or Salang Pass Restaurant, both are also in Fremont Posted on September 29, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ Food was bland and food was really expensive. Great if you are going out to dinner with people you wnat to impress, not that great if you are just having lunch and don't wanna spend $10/plate. Posted on September 28, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Many time i have been to this restaurants, and unfortunately the food as alwasy bad, so i decided to stop going to this place, also the way this place is managed is very evil.
being an Afghan it is sad to say that almost 90% Afhgan restaurants are not Halal. We have to always remember one simple thing and that is if someone who doest not care what make Allah please or not, will not have good, halal, and clean food. Unfortunately most of our Afghans in Fremont are like that, may Allah guide us to the right path, ameen. Posted on April 9, 2004 |

★★★★★ We ate at this place for Eid. Our party was 35 people large. Firstly, The service we got from the two young waitresses was OUTSTANDING. They were very patient with us eventhough we were told earlier that they have another large party needing to use the separate room we were seated at. Our party included kids that were running around from eating candy all day. But incredibly, we had no incident. The Chicken kabobs were the best-moist & tender. The beef kabob & kafta kabobs were good. The beat deal is the combo-chicken & beef or kafta. Two people can share that for dinner. The rice was a little bit dry. Prices was reasonable. This is a nice sitdown restaurant.
I will definitely go back & recommend it to anyone. Posted on November 26, 2003 |

★★★☆☆ "Having been to a few Afghan restaurants in the area, I'd say this place is not bad, but not the best. Service is OK, but could be more attentive. Decor is fine, with room for young kids to wander around. Men's washroom could be much cleaner. Food is OK, but not great. Large portions. Chapli Kabab is bland. Manto is also bland. Chicken kabab is quite good. Better food at De Afhaanan and Salang Pass." Posted on December 9, 2002 |

★☆☆☆☆ Okay the food is good. But the owner is [deleted]! We had our wedding there. He told us that we can play music on there stereo, but at the last minute he say no no. He is so worried about his museum like ugly furniture, and bronze walls, that we had to find a way to cover it so that no guest would event get 5 feet near it. The food was not enough, we had a party of 90, and only the amount could not even suffice 30. It took them forever to refill. He tries to cut too many corners! He promised us the backroom would be set for the bride. He couldn't even sweep it, THERE WAS NO ROOM TO EVEN PUT A CHAIR FOR THE BRIDE! Plus no apology for his lies! I will defame his restaurant as well as any other of his future endeavors. He made a mess of my wedding, with no remorse. We paid a high price for the event there, and paid a high price with miserable memories, thanks to him. Don't throw any event or party there! I urge you to reconsider it! You could be the finest of people, he will still harass you. Posted on November 14, 2002 |

★★★★★ On our first visit to Afghan Village, we enjoyed the food .. Chicken Kabob, Chapli Kabob, and a rice dish. Service was friendly, but they were short haned for a Saturday evening. Ambiance was better than many / most Pakistani restaurants in the area. Above all, our children enjoyed the food, which would encourage us to return. Posted on October 19, 2002 |
