★★★★★ This place was SO good. The lamb melted in my mouth and everything was presented and displayed nicely. The interior was decorated very nice and the setting was quite intimate and charming. A nice little gem in the city, will indeed return. Posted on June 17, 2016 |

★★★★☆ This is the cheapest option in center city if you want Afghan food. The qabli pulao with lamb is very good, as well as the Sansom kabob platter. You can't go wrong with any of the kabob entrees. They charge extra for a mediocre side of yogurt - ridiculous IMO - but the food keeps me coming back. Posted on July 23, 2013 |

★★★★★ really good food. loved it... however the service was just okay... Posted on July 7, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Good tasty food but a little pricey. Place was clean. Server (who I guess may have been the owner) could have been a little more talkative and welcoming. Posted on May 21, 2013 |

★★★★☆ The food is amazing. Their bread is so good that you could just eat that for dinner. Its a little pricey, but i guess their expenses are high as well due to the location. I simply loved their kebab over kabul rice thing Posted on January 22, 2013 |

★★★★☆ This place was great. Order lamb kobab and Chablee Pawpal and both were cooked excellently. The couple was very delightful and decor very tasteful and clean. Also had the samodosa and Afgan tea. Both were great. The salad and green hot sauce also added the pleasent dinning experience. Only issue was parking- this is a walk-to spot as the parking is metered in center city. The only con would be the bread, once cooled became very dry and tough. Overal a great cozy spot- we will return. Posted on December 27, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ Food wasn't bad, but Philly has better Afghan places. Posted on August 2, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ I had dinner here as I am on a business trip to Philly from Toronto. I ordered the soup and the Sansome Kabob which was their most expensive dish at $13. Although, the quality was above average, the quantity left a lot to be desired. It basically cosited of two small pieces of chicken (smaller that your average chicken tikka), two small koftas and two small kebobs with brown rice. Customer service was very slow despite their being only a couple of occupied tables. Disappointing. Posted on November 2, 2009 |

★★★★★ Me and a colleague were staying at a nearby hotel and had two meals there. I read this article before going to philadelphia and it's useful. I couldn't find the eatery myself without reading it up, thanks Zabihah.com! The place is cosy and the people there are friendly (we took quite some time to order as we are not familiar with the food). I even get the prayer times from them. The rice and bread was very nice, until today, after a month back in my country (Malaysia), i still remember the delicious rice and wonder if I can fly back to philly to have it again =) Keep up the good halal food! Allah bless you all! Posted on June 23, 2009 |

★★★★☆ On a day trip to Philly from NYC me and my family(some visiting from morrocco/france) went here for lunch this last week. It was tasty food and well prepared. My family enjoyed eating here very much. Their kuda was outstanding (pumpkin in a spicy sauce). We tried the qabli pulow, a mixed kabob plate, and a few other items. We were pleased with the service and the taste. The interior is a little cheesy but very nice and cosy and accomodating. They had clean restrooms and there is even a small prayer area upstairs, which was nice in a city where you don't know where everything is. I would say their portions were a good size and very tasty. We also tried the sheeryakh (a very creamy rose flavored ice cream) and their firni (a pudding/flan style dish heavily flavored with cardomom). The sheeryakh was really tasty. ★★★★☆ I've frequented this establishment and treated guests to dinner here many times since moving to Philadelphia. The food is delicious (my favorite is the Kabuli Pillaw), although sometimes menu items are not in stock. Customer service is sometimes slow and the HVAC is occasionally spotty, but the wonderful food more than makes up for it. Posted on December 5, 2008 |

★★★★★ First off, I know the family and have been eating there for some time. They are known muslims and good people. Second, I know that they are Halal as I know, and am friends with, the butcher that supplies them AND I have been present when they picked up meat for the restaurant. Finally their food, service, atmosphere, and entire dining experience is just spectacular. MashAllah MashAllah MashAllah. Make sure you try the Firnee... Posted on June 26, 2006 |

★★★★★ I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and was pleasantly surprised to get such delicious fare. My personal favourite is the Beef Kabob. 4 pieces are served for around $10. Posted on June 20, 2006 |

★★★★★ All the food is excellent and so is the service. I've had almost everything on the menu. This is one of the best halal restaurants I've been to in Philly! Posted on May 10, 2006 |

★★★☆☆ I lived a half block from this restaurant, and patronized it a few times. The food is good, but more importantly, the service was great. They were very accomodating of two events I did with them: catering an iftar and hosting a Muslim student dinner. Posted on August 1, 2005 |

|
★★★★☆ The food is OK - not good not so bad. If you are going for the first time, it is hard to find the place because the restaurant is one level below the main street and the sign is not so obvious. The food is a little expensive. The dining area was clean and it has good space to dine in. Posted on December 22, 2004 |

★★☆☆☆ They certainly are not as good as they used to be. Posted on December 7, 2004 |

★★★★★ The food is simply delicious - a delicate bouquet of flavors balanced with just the right amount of spicy kick! We highly recommend both the Qabuli Pulaw and the Sansom Kabob. The lamb simply melts in your mouth. The bread is warm and oven fresh. Lentils are sumptuous. The service is very courteous (and provided by the owner!). Excellent! Posted on June 25, 2004 |

★★★★★ Diamond in the rough. Everything is 100% halal. The owners are super nice and friendly and will cater to your needs or special requests. Everything on the menu is delicious and worth trying!!! Give them a visit one day! You have the option of taking out or dining in. Posted on June 19, 2004 |

★★★★★ One of my favorite places to eat! The staff is friendly, atmosphere is great, food is incredible.
They are so hospitable, it's a bit hard to find, it's sub-level on the south side of sansom. just west of the shoe store. It's worth looking for, though!
