A NOTE ABOUT THE HALAL STATUS OF HERO CERTIFIED BURGERS
| |
|
This restaurant is listed as sourcing some/all of its meat from a known supplier of Halal meat. This means that the management or employees of this restaurant may not be aware of their own halal status if asked. However, they may be able to confirm their meat supplier is Beretta Farms, in which case you can proceed if you feel comfortable eating there. Feel free to click on the name of the supplier and/or certifier listed in the Halal summary to learn more about their Halal procedures. Even if you do decide to eat here, we recommend you politely ask that they clean their grill and ensure no contact with non-Halal meat or alcohol. |

★☆☆☆☆ Overpriced and blend burgers. This place is not worth the money, there are a lot of other Halal restaurants out there that can serve you the same type of burgers for a fraction of the cost that they charge. I've never gone back. Posted on May 8, 2015 |

NR Patial halaal? Hmm better stay away. Always a chance of cross contamination. Idk how they receive islamic certification? Getting a halaal certificate has become that cheap this days? So untrustworthy. Posted on January 13, 2013 |

NR Seems to be closed for renovations. Posted on September 6, 2012 |

NR I called here, of course the Turkey is NOT Halal, but they offered to "cook it separately if you request". I guess that justifies the Partial Halal notification. Posted on March 21, 2012 |

★★★★☆ I went to this location because it's easy access from East York. This is a 100% halal and organic Angus (Black Cow) supplied chain of restaurants. The owners have had a large beef slaughterhouse for years but were focused on supplying to the States more than focusing on doing something locally in Ontario.
Well, here it is. BURGER Aficianados, the halal gourmet burger is finally here.
The Burger patties themselves are delicious. They are preseasoned and have a good juicy texture. There is a slight charbroiled flavor that you can catch in every bite. The bread does NOT have a purely North American white enriched flour appeal. The regular non whole wheat bread looks like a yellow Chinese bakery product or something you find in syrian and meditteranean bakeries as a "white" bread. It is still delicious and comes standard with a sesame seed poppy seed mixture on the top bun. The produce is fresh and crispy, the sauce and cheese are creamy and up to a gourmet standard, and the flavour is all in all like any non-halal fare. The beef patties we ordered were 8oz. (largest) and 4oz. (smallest). They have a 6oz as well. They were all circular and similar in diameter. Only the thickness was different from one to the other.
The fries are not salted heavily like in fast food joints and are fresh in flavour and texture. They do seem cut and seasoned and then frozen before they come to the shops and don't have that typical homemade fries flavor that you get at a local greek owned restaurant on the corner or halal place.
All in all, good eats for someone who wants to enjoy a good burger and feel that it's something uniquely north american and not adapted into a bun kabab or kebbeh sandwich. Posted on December 27, 2010 |
