★★☆☆☆ useless service, took forever, bad management, just a bunch of kids, took over an hour to get food, and when it did arrive, we ordered steak with mash, but all got chips as there was no mash, but we were not informed of this at time of ordering, I did see them microwaving something over and over, I think this was the mash that went wrong, took them over half an hour to take order even though we kept on calling them over, place was awfully cold, food was average, the nachos are just a bag of doritos, would not go again nor recommend! ★☆☆☆☆ Tried this place for the first time on a Monday night (as I thought they would be nice & quite hence I would be able to judge their food & service fairly)
The actual place is a nice size with plenty of seating as well as being fairly clean & tidy. We (my two friends & I) were seated quite promptly & courteously. The menu was presented & we ordered a mixed grill (always a good bench-mark) & some peri peri wings together with roti & naan.
The order took slightly longer to arrive than I had expected (especially since there were only two other tables that were occupied in the shop).
First impressions of the mixed grill was that the portion was a little on the small side (especially at £14.99). Secondly there was not 4 (or even 3) portions of everything as is the case with many other places, only 2 pieces of kebab and even worse, both made of chicken! Now I know that although the menu didn’t actually state that they were lamb seekh kebabs, the industry standard is that when ordering seekh kebabs you normally receive lamb unless it specifically states that you want chicken. Anyway, when I pointed out that seekh kebabs are normally lamb I was told quite bluntly that theirs weren’t! So, having been disappointed that they weren’t lamb (and the fact that they were actually quite paltry & had a uncanny resemblance to the tiny kebabs you get in the frozen section of your local halal meat shop), I promptly ordered lamb seekh kebabs. The peri peri wings arrived well after the mixed grill and again, were also disappointing & nothing special. So, we are eating our food & waiting patiently for the lamb seekh kebabs to arrive, and we waited and waited and waited until we had finished our meal……still no seekh kebabs! We were in a rush so did not order any more food, when we went up to pay I asked about my missing order & was told in a very matter of fact tone that the restaurant doesn’t do lamb seekh kebabs, something our waitress omitted to tell us!!!! Unfortunately I think the problem was that the young lady who was serving didn’t really appear to know much about the food/service industry or have much knowledge about the restaurant itself. She had to keep asking the guy behind the counter, who, unfortunately, didn’t have the inclination or the desire to come & speak to his paying customers.
So in summary, if you like your portions small, your food tasteless and your customer service non-existent then this is the place for you to go and part with your hard-earned cash. I for one won’t be visiting this establishment again anytime in the near future! Verdict: pricey for what your getting, there are far better places to visit in the immediate area. ★★★★★ Food was lovely, from their wings, to their chicken cheese fries and their burgers which you can tell was homemade and fresh. Great portions and lovely decor. Have been here many times now and will continue going. If you have a taste card, well worth it. Posted on March 18, 2013 |

★★★★☆ The chicken steak is lovely, as is the mushroom sauce. Also had starters which were perfect for 2 sharing.
Portions are a perfect size. Prices also reasonable.
Would be nice if they had mocktails as part of their drinks menu, but its not a big issue Posted on May 23, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ Tried it for the first time but first impressions weren't so great...
Pros - Excellent decor and atmosphere.
HMC certified.
Cons - Not sure what the steak is like, but I wouldn't recommend the Chicken Fajitas because even though it states that you get a selection of mixed cheeses and tortillas, you don't get cheese and they give you one piece of store-bought tortilla.
Too pricey for me. Posted on April 10, 2012 |
