★★★★☆ The brother who owns the truck is very friendly and assured that although not everything is halal, anything on the menu can be made with halal meat upon special request due to cost reasons. This place is very popular and there was actually a crew filming while I was there. I ordered a Fat Philipino, cheese fries and Chicken over rice. The chicken over rice was pretty bland even with the sauce. I enjoyed the cheese fries. The fat sandwich was nothing impressive but not bad either. I might come here for a late night craving again and try other stuff. Posted on April 1, 2016
★☆☆☆☆ I ordered Halal chicken platter and the person took order from me told the person at the grill and he replied back that halal chicken is finish. The person who took order said something to him and he made the order for me. I asked to make sure, it is halal but I didn't receive a clear answer. I also saw they use the same grill for all orders including non-halal. I looked around but not seen halal sign anywhere. The food was not great either. I will stay away unless they change menu to all halal and put the halal sign out. Posted on November 2, 2014
★☆☆☆☆ They do not serve Halal Food. I asked the brother clearly if the food I was ordering was halal (because he had pork items on the menu also) and he said inshah Allah. Well, one of us ordered the Turkey club sandwich, and he pulled out Oscar Meyer Turkey cold cuts from the fridge and started making the sandwich. I asked him again, how he thought this was halal and both the cook and the guy taking the order had nothing to say to me. Be careful, to each their own, but I wanted to warn everyone out there. They also serve pork, which should have been my first sign to avoid them. I know better now. Posted on May 8, 2014
ADMIN RESPONSE
We will follow up - thanks for bringing this to our attention
NR Although I've eaten here in the past, I'm very skeptical about their food actually being zabihah halal. In addition, they use the same grill and frying oil where they cook non zabihah and haram meat. As much as I loved eating their fat sandwiches, I avoid eating them for reasons mentioned above. ★★★★★ I saw them on Travel channel & Food Network TV. Since I was in the area, I had to stop by. They are located on the campus of Rutgers University & cater to all different clients. All of their food is halal, but they also cater to vegetarians. They have 6-7 picnic style tables to sit out front & while we were there, wre saw people of all different nationalities stop by. The food was delicious as well. This is a must try if you are in the area. Posted on June 27, 2013
