★★★★★ Soooo much better than the Dallas locations! the taste was amazing, clean restaurant, great service. Walked expecting mediocre food but was blown away at how good it was. We live in Dallas and even at the top of their game back in the days in Dallas, this location tops them. Posted on May 18, 2018 |

★★★★☆ I love Masala Wok's Chicken 65! I think I've tried their Kung Pao and Chicken Lollipops as well (I forgot), but I've always had a good experience with them. I'd recommend them to anyone interested in trying out. Posted on March 5, 2014 |

★☆☆☆☆ Big disappointment: cashier said this place is not halal. Posted on September 2, 2012 |
We will look into this - Masala Wok has been halal for a long time and this would be a big change. |

★★★★☆ Stopped in for dinner after given verbal assurance the meat was halal. My family ordered Masala Noodles, Yellow Fried Rice, and Chicken Tikka Masala. Everything was quite good, thougt CTM is better in desi restaurants. As with other locations, the portions are good, the decor is very pleasant, clean washrooms, and excellent service. ★★★★★ Jun 2010 - Rating 5 stars!
This place has made a 180 degree turn and is now fabulous! Food is awesome, environment good and people friendly. I wish others who have left bad reviews in the past would take time to re-visit them and update their ratings. Best Indo-Chinese food in Austin.

Absolutely worst food that i have ever tasted. Its been a few months that we went there and ordered 4 different chinese dishes and 2 soups and amazingly each one was a piece of crap. AVOID AT ALL COSTS Posted on June 5, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ Pathetic place. Its a rip off for the price. Quantity is not even enough for a kid. They just want to make money for saving on raw material. What a poor management of a restaurant. I would never go to this place. Posted on November 28, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ WARNING! They serve non-zabihah chicken nuggets. The owner always says all food is halal, but when asked about chicken nuggets he owned up. Posted on May 19, 2008 |

★☆☆☆☆ Horrible, horrible food. These guys dont know how to cook food and are basically running there business thanks to the poor white and mexican crowd which doesn't have a clue of what good desi food is.
I'd prefer McDonalds Fillet Fish Sandwich anytime over this place. Posted on October 19, 2007 |

★★☆☆☆ Very poor deshi food and poor chinese food, that's how I remember Masala Wok. Unfortunately Austin does not have halal chinese place, so had to go there more than once. (comment based on my visit there in 2004-06) Posted on September 27, 2007 |

★★☆☆☆ Visited May 2007. Food was quite poor. I have never tasted chicken corn soup so sweet! The kakobs were dry. This is a rip-off in the name of Halal. Unfortunately Austin does not have too many halal restuarants. Posted on June 29, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ I ordered vegetable chow mein and my husband ordered the shrimp masala noodles. Both were pretty horrible. We were going to order chicken, but they told us they were out. During our meal, I saw a little boy come in with 2 whole chickens in yellow (commercialized like) bags in an HEB grocery bag and handed it to the cashier. That made me a bit suspicious. I inquired with the cashier about whether they served halal and he confirmed. I asked where he got the meat from and he said they get it from Houston. I then told him that I saw the little boy walk in with the 2 whole chickens (I said nothing else), and he said the chickens were for the workers. That makes me a bit suspicious. ★★★★☆ My friends and I have a regular Masala-Wok-night because the food is great, the decor is fun, and the portions are huge. I love that you can order every meal as Mild, Medium, or Spicy. I would recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala because it is decadant and addictive. Also, the Blazing Masala Noodles, Masala Fried Rice, and Chicken Lollipops. My friends and I stick to these meals only because some of the other food is not so great. Also, the kid's menu has some tasty options, but adults cannot order from this part of the menu (Chicken nuggets should be available for all ages!). Posted on April 7, 2007 |

★★★☆☆ One serving big enough for two. I ordered medium but it was too spicy. If you dont like too spicy just order mild. Food was OK. Restaurant was busy. Posted on March 5, 2007 |

★★☆☆☆ The place is clean but anyone who has had "desi" chinese, knows that the food here REALLY REALLY is horrible. The Chilli Chicken tastes like someone brought in left overs from "asian week" at the Home Ec. class in Yeehaw High School, Texas!! I cannot believe my fellow "Desi's" saying the food was good. If you want Desi chinese, don't go there. Posted on December 29, 2006 |

★★★★★ Took my father here, and he loved it! I found it pretty good myself, although I was expecting more fusion items rather than a menu that was half Chinese, half Indo-Pak. Very clean and stylish restaurant. Posted on February 12, 2006 |

★★★★☆ I went to this restaurant yesterday. Food was really very good. I had Masala Wok with beef and shrimp. Very good. They have a certificate showing that they have halal meat. Hot-N-Sour soup was just OK. I agree that music was loud. One thing I was surprise to see that they had one sign saying that alcohol permission is pending. Posted on November 11, 2005 |

★★★★★ This is the same chain that has restaurants in Dallas. They do have a certificate from a Halal meat supplier in Dallas who supplies them with the meat and can show it to you upon request. The Chinese dishes are excellent. The Indian dishes that I tried were not bad either. Posted on April 13, 2005 |
