Assalamu alaikum. This establishment was not very clean when my husband and I went there. I don't know if it is halal or what. I just know the products on the shelves were dusty and the market did not look very clean. UPDATE 6/10/2014- After 7 years, I thought I would give them another try. I try to support my fellow Muslims but I will NEVER return! The service was sub par and the cashier spoke NO ENGLISH. She had a cut with a huge, dirty bandage on her left index finger, she handled the meat with no gloves nor did she was her hands. In addition to this, she weighed the meat, cut it up, threw some of it out and charged me on the weight prior to her cutting it. I was overcharged for the chicken and when the owner finally arrived, he would not reweigh it for me. My husband explained that in most meat markets the meat is cut, then weighed for sale. The owner disagreed. The cashier tried, mashallah, she was very sweet. But I literally go out of my way to shop for halal meat. I live in the high desert and we have no halal markets. I usually order my meat online but I want to support halal meat markets so the industry will see that there is a need and money to be made. That being said, I will not give them a 3rd try. I hope that this review will get the owner to have English speaking people at the register and people that know proper food handling.
