I ordered chicken biryani which was special of the day for $9. I got half a plate of rice with 3 bones, absolutely no meat. I had to get a muffin from Dunkin Donuts next door to complete my dinner.

I chose this restaurant because when I called and asked whether the food was halal, the employee responded with "Alhamdullilah, yes." We ate here twice during our stay (once for a lunch buffet and the second was a dinner meal). I'm Turkish and do not eat Desi food often, but I have to admit that I loved everything I ate. My wife is Pakistani and she could not get enough of the buffet food and requested that we eat there more often - the only reason we couldn't was because we spent a majority of our time in D.C. The employee we spoke with while there was hospitable and while we were eating, we even saw her allow some other customers taste a sample from the buffet. She spoke with us and was very nice. I would absolutely return to this place the next time I'm in D.C.

5 of us walked into this Cozy place, it was packed and Dave said lets go somewhere else, they seemed busy. We helped ourselves to be seated, few minutes later a friendly face with welcoming smile walked up to us, helped us with Menu, we ordered Nihari, Chicken Karahi, Goat Biryani, Seekh Kabaabs, Mango Lassi and palak Gosht etc. To our Surprise, the food served in less than 20 minutes, all fresh and Steamy. Well served with mint Yogurt and garden salad. We enjoyed that nicely spiced Seekh Kabaabs, awesome Mango Lassi, heavenly Biryani and other stuff. Serving time was great, they didn't make us make longer, service was wonderful. Food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. We will be back for sure.

The food is sometimes good and sometimes bad. The menu has changed countless times since it was created (they've even had chinese food and fried chicken for some time). If you're in the area, it's worth a try. I'm not really into it, though.

Owner/manager treated advertisement in Consumer's Eye magazine like it was a coupon and said only one per table. It was not a coupon. He was being disingenuous. Food was not hot and was not of very good quality - over cooked and too salty. I and my friends will not be returning.

I chose this restaurant because it was open late and served zabihah meat. The nihari and saag gosht were tasty, and a little bit too oily for me. Also, I like salad made with romaine lettuce more than the iceberg lettuce salad that was provided. The soup was also tasty with lots of vegetables and many substantial cubes of meat. Gajar halwa was tasty as well, garnished with nuts. The meat samosas had a fresh tasting delicious beefy filling. The rice was made with saffron - costliest spice on the Earth. The owner and staff were honest, polite, and helpful; the tables were clean; the service was quick.

We have been to SS few times. Each time we ordered from menu all the entrees and desserts were very delicious with generous serving and reasonably priced. We don't like their buffet as the quality of food is very poor and no authentic taste with some homemade concoctions and stale food. Persian menu is delicious but pricy. Customer service of owner and the staff has been exceptional to us. All in all great Pakistani tasting food from menu, excellent customer service, plenty of seating and decent parking.

I've been there a few times for the buffet. Sometimes it was good, sometimes not so good. The food wasn't always fresh, and they seem to use an excessive amount of fat & oil in the food. Lots of meat & chicken on the buffet. They'll bring fresh bread out to you upon request. Not much for salad/fresh vegetables/fruits. Staff are friendly.

Food is decent. Owner is nice and told us where he gets the meat from without hesitation. He said we could talk to the sources if we wanted to feel comfortable. Recently I have become more aware of the issues surrounding halal meat sources. I am specific when I ask and every now and then I will investigate for peace of mind. I used to think it was distrusting to do so, especially if my Muslim brother has confirmed their meat is zabihah. Now, however, as a consumer spending my hard-earned buck, I believe it's my right to ask questions and feel comfortable with what I am purchasing. Insha'allah, everyone can benefit from the vigilance of a few. That being said, the responses we received from their chicken source made us uncomfortable. I am not against "machine cut" as long as it follows zabihah procedure, but it did not seem like they have a human say Allah's name on every chicken before zabihahing it. I could be mistaken, but the source was not easily forthcoming and made me nervous. This was last year and maybe things have changed. I do not believe the owner is malicious or anything. Just that he probably never thought to investigate. We were actually researching for a wedding and wanted to make sure of our meat sources out of respect for certain strict families who were attending. I always thought it was just hot air, maulvis trying to make living in America diffult, you know, that sort of thing. But ever since this experience I have become more careful. Allah knows best.

The establishment is a little run down. The owner is very friendly. When I took my family, their air conditioning was kaput. That was painful as it was 85 degrees. Nevertheless, the food was served promptly and it was definitely above average. The best was their tandoori chicken. Naan were hot, food was also served hot. Price was okay. $60 for a feast for 4 adults. Nihari was okay but I have yet to taste good nihari any where outside of chicago.

The owner is extremely friendly. I like to eat here, however there is some inconsistency. On some days the food comes out delicious. On some days it tastes mediocre. My hunch is that there is one bad cook in the kitchen. I never voiced my opinion, but maybe I should to help this establishment out. My advice is to come here when Khalid (the owner) is working to make sure your food comes out tasty.

Nice combination of Middle Eastern and Desi Restaurant, very good food, nice portioning, Kabobs are awesome, love that Mango Lasi, Green Chatni is great and spicy, Naans are good and hot when served. Service is wonderful, Owner himself came by manytimes to ask, if we need anything else, That was a plus. I wasn't able to check and taste everything they have on the menue, I would surely go back and test & taste other things, nice clean and cozy place. love it and highly recommend to others.
