About Rania's Restaurant

Portuguese as well as Morrocan cuisine is available. Everything is NOT halal. You need to ask the OWNER for halal food as it is separately cooked. We also have two other sister take-aways by the name of La Pizza Factory one of which is located on The Strip. Rania's is located in a small town of Albufeira and is about 15 minutes walk from The Strip (name of a street full of bars and restaurants).

The owner is super friendly and offered me several halal options. I ordered the mixed grill and got several pieces of peri peri chicken, 3 steaks and a lambchop. Salad and fries on the side. Everything was delicious and the service was faster than in most Portuguese restaurants.

this place is not too hard to find, went there seen a sandwich board on the outside stating 8.95 for starter, main and dessert and thought "not bad". went inside asked them for halal, and the waiter brought out a different menu specifically for halal food. in here there was nothing under 20 Euro a dish, so went for the Portuguese steak, which was ok, nothing special. the fried potatoes were nice. didn't get a start or a dessert with the halal options. Met the Owner she was very friendly. was nice to have some meat, as there is no other halal place in the area. if you are staying in self catering apartments you can also get whole halal chicken "frango halal" from the local pingo doce supermarket which is just near the local mosque

The restaurant is run by husband and wife. To get halal food I had to confirm with the owner so that it could be cooked separately. We had 3 tagines and 1 sheesh kebab. The tagines were very nice however sheesh kebabs needed to be cooked again. We came back the next day for donner kebabs (which is the only item advertised as halal) but they were not of good quality and are certainly off my list. The restaurant was very clean and full of diners and also offers great offers on seafood however I did not try the fish. P.S. MUST SPEAK TO THE OWNER TO CONFIRM AND ORDER HALAL. This is a very small town in Algarve and it is very nice of these owners to be able to offer both types of meat.
